RYAZAN, June 9The court arrested the former head of the department of construction and architecture of the Ivanovo region, who currently holds the position of Minister of Architecture and Construction of the Vladimir region, Alexander Baturin, accused of embezzlement, the prosecutor's office reported in its Telegram channel.
As the prosecutor's office of the Ivanovo region reported, a criminal case has been opened against the former head of the department of construction and architecture of the Ivanovo region, who currently holds the position of Minister of Architecture and Construction of the Vladimir region, under the article of embezzlement of budget funds on an especially large scale. According to the website of the Ministry of Architecture and Construction of the Vladimir Region, the ministry is headed by Alexander Baturin.
The prosecutor's office clarified that in December 2019 the Ivanovo department accepted and paid for work under a state contract for the development of design documentation for the major renovation of the Sovremennik cinema building in Ivanovo. However, the contractor has not actually completed the work. The amount of damage caused amounted to almost 12 million rubles.

«Today, June 9, a court hearing was held, as a result of which a preventive measure was chosen against the accused in the form of detention until 08/05/2024,» the Ivanovo prosecutor's office reported.
