DONETSK, June 10 Ukrainian troops again fired at the Petrovsky district of Donetsk with NATO shells of 155 mm caliber, the DPR representative office in the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of Issues Related to war crimes of Ukraine (JCCC).
«Shelling was recorded from the armed formations of Ukraine in the direction: 20.05 — the settlement of Zhelannye Second — the city of Donetsk (Petrovsky district): four shells of 155 mm caliber were fired; 21.50 — the settlement of Kurakhovka — the city of Donetsk (Petrovsky district): two shells of 155 caliber were fired millimeters,» the department said in a statement on its Telegram channel.
The representative office reported that since the beginning of the day, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have fired at least 49 NATO shells of 155 millimeter caliber into this area, 18 of them are cluster-type.
Petrovsky district is located on the western outskirts of Donetsk, it is the most distant part of the city from the center. Since 2014, when the DPR declared independence from Kyiv, this area has regularly come under fire from Ukrainian security forces.
155 mm artillery is used by NATO countries. The United States has supplied Ukraine with long-range howitzers M777 of 155 mm caliber; Ukrainian troops are actively using them to shell the cities of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics.
