Strike on the center of Donetsk on Russia Day: an eyewitness spoke about the consequences

“The whole city heard the arrivals”

The first information about what happened is coming from Donetsk, which suffered a severe blow from the Ukrainian army on Russia Day. The MK correspondent contacted a local resident working in the cultural sector, who was able, despite the howl of air raid sirens, to talk about what happened.

The publication's interlocutor said that cultural institutions are not operating in the capital of the DPR today, but it was planned for June 12, without prior announcement, as is customary in Donbass and other new regions (this is done so that a certain place does not become a new target for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. — Author), open an exhibition in one of the museums. Apparently, for an absentee visit, in a remote format, but even at the online opening ceremony someone is physically present.

Note that the main republican museums are located precisely in the central and adjacent parts of the mining capital.< /p>

“Media coverage of the event should have happened after the fact. My colleagues and I were just about to leave the house, go to the center from different parts of Donetsk, when the arrivals happened. The whole city, of course, heard these sounds. I immediately received a call: “Close up, due to circumstances we are postponing the event.”
