The SUV with a hybrid powertrain will be between the option with a traditional internal combustion engine and the all-electric version.
The German brand Opel belongs to the auto giant Stellantis. The brand introduced the second-generation Mokka crossover in 2020: it is based on the French modular platform CMP (Common Modular Platform), which was developed by the French PSA Group together with the Chinese manufacturer Dongfeng. The SUV is produced at the Stellantis plant in Poissy (France). According to statistics from JATO Dynamics, Mocha sold 104,676 copies last year, which is 8% more than in 2022. However, the model is still far from its main competitor: 204,610 customers chose the Volkswagen T-Roc (an increase of 13%).

Now the Opel Mokka has a version with a traditional internal combustion engine, as well as a fully electric modification. Now the family has been expanded with an intermediate version, which is equipped with a hybrid power plant. It is based on a 136-horsepower 1.2-liter gasoline turbo engine (torque — 230 Nm), which works in tandem with an electric motor producing 28 hp. (55 Nm) and an electrified six-speed dual-clutch transmission. By the way, the Opel Frontera crossover, which debuted in the middle of last month (replacing the Crossland), is equipped with a similar system. In the photo: Opel Mokka Hybrid
The company noted that the Opel Mokka Hybrid has reduced fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by approximately 20% compared to a crossover with an internal combustion engine. The average fuel consumption of the new product is 4.9 liters per 100 km (when calculated using the WLTP cycle). For comparison, an SUV with a conventional engine and eight-speed automatic transmission has 6.1 liters per 100 km.
It is reported that the hybrid variant can operate solely on electricity when driving at low speeds. True, the range in “green” mode is very modest — about 1 km; the fact is that the lithium-ion battery, which is recharged during braking, has a small capacity (the manufacturer did not specify this indicator).

The Opel Mokka Hybrid has three driving modes — Eco, Normal and Sport. The company calculated that it takes 9.1 seconds to accelerate from zero to “hundreds” of this version of the model. The maximum speed of the hybrid crossover is 207 km/h. There are almost no visual differences from the version with a traditional internal combustion engine, except perhaps the nameplate on the tailgate. In the cabin, the graphics of the virtual tidy and the touchscreen of the infotainment system have changed.
Dealers in Europe have already begun collecting pre-orders for the new modification of the model. The price of the Opel Mokka Hybrid is known: in the home market, Germany, the purchase of such a crossover will cost at least 31,915 euros (equivalent to approximately 3 million rubles at the current exchange rate). Note that a Mokka with a similar “simple” internal combustion engine costs 28,565 euros (about 2.7 million rubles).
