The Honda N-Van kei car now has an all-electric version

The “green” model of the Japanese brand has a rated range on a single charge of 245 km (when calculated using the WLTP cycle).

The Honda brand has been producing the N-Van kei car since 2018; the model of modest dimensions is intended for the home market. Let us remind you that the length of the microvan is 3395 mm, width – 1475 mm, height – 1950 mm, and the distance between the axles – 2520 mm. Now the manufacturer has introduced an all-electric version of this kei car, called Honda N-Van e: (yes, the colon is part of the name).

The “green” modification is also addressed exclusively to the Japanese. The novelty relates to commercial vehicles: a small van is designed for transporting small loads over relatively short distances. However, it is available for retail sale and is available for purchase by individuals.

The “electric” version has some differences from the petrol version, but they are concentrated in the different design of the front part: now between the headlight and the brand logo there is a connector for charging the traction battery. The head optics and lights have remained the same, as well as the modest-sized wheel disks – 13 inches.

The interior of the electric car has changed more noticeably. Here you can see a revised front panel, a different two-spoke steering wheel, a virtual instrument panel, and an automatic transmission joystick with physical buttons. It is worth noting that the appearance, interior and characteristics differ depending on the configuration of the electric car.

Thus, the starting single-seat version of the Honda N-Van e:G (the rest of the space is given over to the cargo compartment) has bumpers made of unpainted plastic, and also has simple steel wheels. The two-seat commercial version e:L2 is distinguished by bumpers painted in body color. This pair received a 53-horsepower electric motor, and their load capacity is 350 kg.

In turn, the four-seater version of the Honda N-Van e:L4 was equipped with a more powerful electric motor – 64 hp. (maximum torque in both cases is 162 Nm). True, this option has a lower load capacity – 300 kg. The top version received the e:Fun increase, such cars have a two-tone body, more expensive interior trim, and also headrests on the second row of seats.

The traction battery of the Honda N-Van e is located under the interior floor. Its capacity is 29.6 kWh, operating voltage is 358 volts. The company said that the rated range of this “electric train” on one charge is 245 km (when calculated using the WLTP cycle). The new product has a 6 kW AC charger, with which it takes about five hours for a full “electric charge.” A 50 kW DC charger is available for an extra charge (it takes half an hour to fully charge).

Sales of “green” microvans will start in Japan in October this year. The price of the basic single-seater version is 2,439,800 yen (equivalent to approximately 1.38 million rubles at the current exchange rate), for a two-seater van – 2,549,800 yen (about 1.44 million rubles), the purchase of a four-seater version will cost at least 2,699,400 yen ( about 1.53 million rubles), and for the top “fun” performance they ask for at least 2,919,400 yen (about 1.65 million rubles).
