The Ministry of Defense told how Russian military liberated Staromayorske

MOSCOW, June 30. Military personnel of the Vostok group of troops actively used motorcycles and ATVs during the liberation of the village of Staromayorskoye and the capture of strongholds of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense said on Sunday.
On June 10, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the Vostok group of the Russian Armed Forces liberated the village of Staromayorskoye in the DPR; the enemy captured this village during a counteroffensive last summer.

«During the liberation of the village of Staromayorskoye, as well as the occupation of large enemy strongholds in the Ugledar direction, assault units of the combined arms formation of the Vostok group of forces actively used motorized transport. Assault unit servicemen used motorcycles to conduct assault combat operations, deliver ammunition and food supplies to the held strongholds,» the statement said.

The military department explained that motorcycles and ATVs allow assault groups to move quickly and take the enemy by surprise. Fast movements on motorcycles reduce the time needed to overcome open areas, minimize the risk of attack by enemy drones, facilitate breakthroughs of enemy defenses and allow attacks from the flanks.
«To achieve tactical success, commanders often use motorized groups in combination with foot assault troops. Also, groups on motorcycles and ATVs were used as a diversionary maneuver, which allowed them to build on their success and capture strongholds in the main direction,» the Russian Defense Ministry said.
