The development process will become easier: Sber has provided access to the GigaCode AI assistant

In just a few months, more than 20 thousand users have installed the GigaCode AI assistant, said Andrey Belevtsev, senior vice president and head of the Technological Development block at Sberbank. The program helps developers analyze code and estimate the labor costs for its creation in just a couple of minutes.

GigaCode AI assistant supports more than 30 popular programming languages ​​thanks to an updated set of models.

“We managed to make the service functionality truly unique on the Russian market by introducing code analytics tools and labor cost assessment,” Belevtsev noted at the GigaConf technology conference.

According to him, the AI ​​assistant is constantly being improved taking into account the opinion of the IT community, so that the service becomes easier and more convenient. For example, short commands have been added to the chat, with which developers can quickly solve tasks such as explaining code, preparing documentation, and generating unit tests.

The service is available to users of the platform for working with GitVerse source code as in as a plugin for third-party development environments, and as part of the new Giga IDE Desktop from Sber.

Meanwhile, at the technology conference GigaConf 2024, Sber demonstrated AI agents that set themselves tasks, write code to solve them, analyze and visualize the results. The scope of application of AI agents is not limited to any specific area of ​​activity: they are capable of automating and optimizing most routine processes.

“Undoubtedly, the implementation of AI agents in the future will become a key tool for transforming many business processes of companies. They will be able to autonomously solve a very wide range of problems — from mathematical calculations to generating code for creating neural networks and business solutions. Today we were once again clearly convinced of this by observing agents created using GigaChain and GigaChat API,” said Andrey Belevtsev. — They already cope with more complex tasks with good accuracy and correctness compared to large language models that use APIs in basic functionality. Thanks to their unique capabilities, AI agents will become indispensable assistants in various fields of activity in the near future.”
