Denza Z9 GT is preparing for the start of sales: competitor Zeekr 001 showed a luxurious interior

The all-new large Denza hatchback will be available with a hybrid setup or as a full-fledged electric car. The model will hit the market before the end of this year.

In certification photographs, the five-door Denza Z9 GT in Zeekr 001 format was revealed in mid-April, and at the end of the same month, the first public display was held at the Beijing Motor Show. However, only a prototype with tinted windows was shown at the exhibition. Now the interior has also been declassified.

Let us remember that the Denza brand was originally created by Mercedes (then Daimler) and BYD. The brand did not demonstrate outstanding results, so then the Germans lost interest in it, reducing their share from 50 to 10%. Well, BYD promised to turn Denza into a competitive and electrified “premium”. The current model range includes the Denza D9 minivan, Denza N7 and Denza N8 crossovers. It is curious that Denza SUVs are not in demand — the lion's share of sales falls on vans. In general, the hatchback should help the brand move away from the status of a manufacturer of “business buses”.

So, there are three separate screens installed on the front panel of the Denza Z9 GT, with the central tablet seemingly stuck to it. The side air deflectors open/close automatically. Additional displays can be built into the door trim (they are frameless, by the way), because instead of the usual exterior mirrors, the hatch is equipped with cameras. The box selector was made “crystal”.

The backs of the rear side seats recline, the seats themselves have retractable footrests, heating, ventilation and a massager . There are two refrigerators at once, hidden in armrest boxes between the seats in the front and back rows. There are two glass sections in the roof, and illuminated mirrors are hidden in the ceiling panel between them.

As for the exterior design, the Denza Z9 GT received rather aggressive bumpers, elongated headlights, under which contain strips of running lights and similar shaped rear lights. Depending on the modification, the length of the five-door is 5180 or 5195 mm, the width is 1990 mm, and the height is 1480 or 1500 mm. Wheelbase – 3125 mm. The models are equipped with 20- or 21-inch wheels.

According to preliminary data, Denza Z9 GT will be offered in the form of a rechargeable hybrid or a full-fledged electric car. The installation of the first version will include a 2.0 petrol turbo-four and three electric motors (one at the front and two at the rear), with a total output of 870 hp. The electric car will also receive a three-motor setup, but its engines will be more powerful: together they will produce 965 hp. There is no information about batteries yet.

The large Denza Z9 GT hatchback should be released on the Chinese market before the end of the year.
