MOSCOW, July 1The Nika Award in the category “best feature film” was awarded to the film “The Righteous” directed by Sergei Ursulyak, announced the President of the Russian Academy of Cinematographic Arts Andrei Konchalovsky.
“I am very pleased that I received this award from the hands of Andrei Sergeevich Konchalovsky, whose film “Romance of Lovers” at one time largely predetermined, so to speak, my life,” said Ursulyak, receiving the prize.

The plot is based on the real feat of Nikolai Kiselev, who in the summer of 1942 saved more than 200 Soviet Jews, leading them from the fascist occupation behind the front line.
Also nominated in the nomination were the first film shot in space, “Challenge” by Klim Shipenko, the historical drama about the October putsch “1993” by Alexander Veledinsky, the film about the crew of the fishing vessel “Snegir” caught in a storm by Boris Khlebnikov, the drama with elements of fantasy “Feelings of Anna” by Anna Melikyan, as well as the story about the life of an intelligent family in the Soviet communal apartment “For You and Me” by Andrei Smirnov.
National Cinematography Award «Nika» was established in 1987 by the secretariat of the Union of Cinematographers of the USSR. The winners are determined by secret ballot of members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and receive a prize-figurine of the winged ancient Greek goddess Nike.
