The driver of a car fell asleep at the wheel on the highway to the Perm airport and hit two road workers, one of them to death, reports the regional State Traffic Inspectorate.

Early this morning, a Renault Logan car driven by a 40-year-old driver was moving along the Cosmonauts Highway towards Bolshoye Savino Airport. According to preliminary data, near the house at number 320e the man fell asleep and crashed into a stationary Gazelle of road workers. It is clarified that special signs were posted around. The strong impact threw the foreign car onto workers nearby repairing the road.

“As a result of a car accident, a man born in 1985. died at the scene before the ambulance arrived,” the statement says. The second one was hospitalized.

The Renault driver was also injured and is in a medical facility.

A check is underway.
