The all-electric new product from the Japanese brand is expected to enter the European market in 2025.
At the beginning of 2023, Suzuki published a development plan until the 2030 financial year (starts in April). Then it was reported that the manufacturer would continue to focus on the markets of Japan, Europe and India, and would not forget the developing countries of Southeast Asia and Africa; and in addition, there are plans to deepen cooperation with Toyota. Even then, the issue of electrification was raised: it is known that several completely “green” models will appear in the brand’s lineup relatively soon.

One of the promised «electric cars» will be the serial crossover Suzuki eVX. The world premiere of the concept of the same name took place at the beginning of last year as part of the Indian Auto Expo, at the same time it was officially announced that the crossover would be transformed into a commercial global model. Later, the prototype was modified: a version closer to the series was shown in Tokyo at the Japan Mobility Show last fall. Even then, the manufacturer declassified the interior of the concept.

The company is currently developing a production version of the Suzuki eVX. It is known that Europe will be one of the main markets for the new product, so it is not surprising that prototypes of the future crossover are being tested on public roads in the southern part of the region. Colleagues from the Spanish publication Motor.es shared with us a portion of the latest pictures of the eVX.

The prototype in the photo is very carefully camouflaged, so it is not yet possible to discern some of the exterior details. However, you can already see that the crossover has stampings on the hood, a large air intake integrated into the lower part of the front bumper, wheel arch trims, traditional exterior mirrors, a shark fin antenna on the roof and a fairly large spoiler on the top of the fifth door.
The prototype has regular front door handles, while the rear ones are hidden in the glass frame. Judging by the photo, the headlights are similar to those demonstrated by one of the future new products, shown in the form of silhouettes at the beginning of last year. The rear lights visually protrude beyond the body, while they are partly reminiscent of the updated Suzuki eVX concept, which was shown in October 2023, although they have a different solution.
Let us remind you that the length of the conceptual crossover is 4.3 meters, width – 1.8 meters, height – 1.6 meters. It is assumed that in the model line of the Japanese brand, the production version will be an all-electric alternative to the Suzuki S-Cross. There is no official information about the technology of the serial eVX yet.
The October version of the show car was equipped with all-wheel drive : The company designated the installation as EV4WD, although it did not share any details. Most likely, this SUV has two electric motors — one on each axis. The capacity of the concept's traction battery is not specified (the version shown in India has 60 kWh), and the range on one charge will exceed 400 km (when calculated using the WLTP cycle).

It is expected that the premiere of the production version of the Suzuki eVX will take place closer to the end of the first half of 2025, and a new product will go on sale in the European market, will probably arrive in the second half of the same year.
