BEIJING, July 14 T-shirts with a photo of former US President Donald Trump, taken immediately after the assassination attempt on him, appeared on on the shelves of China's largest e-commerce platform Taobao, writes the South China Morning Post.
According to media reports, sellers responded to the incident as quickly as current American leader Joe Biden. However, other countries commented on what happened even later.
As specified, the attempt on Trump's life happened on Saturday around 18:15 local time. Biden's first comment came around 8:00 p.m., and the first batch of T-shirts with the now iconic photo of Trump waving his fist went on sale around 8:40 p.m.
As the seller of one of the online stores, Li Jinwei, told the publication, within two hours after the start of sales, her store received more than two thousand orders from both China and the United States. The girl also emphasized that for the elections in the United States this year, their outlet produces souvenirs only with the image of Trump, since “he has a greater chance of winning and is popular among Chinese Internet users.”
However, as the correspondent was convinced, as of 19:30 Beijing time (14:30 Moscow time), T-shirts with the image of Trump after the attack on Taobao are not available. For all requests mentioning the ex-president of the United States and the shooting, the platform writes “we apologize, no corresponding product was found.” If you search for a T-shirt by image, it will return other product options.

The assassination attempt on Trump took place on Saturday at his campaign rally in Pennsylvania. The politician was wounded in the ear, and security took him away from the event. The ex-president has already been discharged from the hospital after a medical examination.
A spectator at an election rally was also killed in the incident and two other people were seriously injured
Local media write that the suspect was 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks from Pennsylvania — the state where the rally took place. He was reportedly hiding on the roof of a production building about a hundred meters from the stage.
US President Joe Biden said he was praying for Trump's recovery, but did not yet have enough facts to call the incident an assassination attempt.
