MOSCOW, July 11 The task of the BRICS Aerospace Club is to attract young people to space exploration, said the special representative of the Russian President for international cooperation in the field of space, Sergei Krikalev.
«We are talking more about the humanitarian direction <…>, and the humanitarian part is primarily connected with popularization and education related to cosmonautics,» he said after a round table dedicated to the opening of the Aerospace Club within the framework of the BRICS International Futurological Forum «Smart Civilization».
As Krikalev noted, cosmonautics is a wide area where everyone can find something interesting for themselves — space medicine, communications, the creation of technology or design.
The creators of the club, according to him, strive to convey their thoughts to young people and make sure that people who are interested in space want to not only consume, but also invent what is possible.
So, at the first stage this could be the creation of models, gliders and flights on them, the agency’s interlocutor noted.
< br />“We build to fly, and we fly to build. This is what we discussed today, so that this happens also within a wider range of countries, and BRICS is a good platform. And we don’t even have to limit ourselves to just BRICS «, the special representative indicated.
In conclusion, Krikalev added that another task is to teach people to dream about space.
The BRICS Aerospace Club opened as part of the BRICS International Futurological Forum at the Russian State University for the Humanities and MSTU named after N.E. Bauman, held on July 10-11.
At the forum, solutions were proposed for the creation and development of the humanitarian infrastructure of the association in ten areas: knowledge, education, culture, civil society, media, ecology, youth cooperation, tourism, sports, lifestyle at the intellectual, organizational, information and spatial levels.
