Alexander Petrov will play in the fairy tale film «Gorynych»

MOSCOW, June 26. The filming of the full-length fairy-tale blockbuster “Gorynych” with Alexander Petrov in the title role has started, the press service of the Rossiya TV channel reported.
In the center of the plot is Senior Navy Lieutenant Alexey Alekhin. He descends in a submersible to the seabed and finds himself in a strange cave, which turns out to be a portal to a fairy-tale world. Lyokha meets a little dragon left without a mother and becomes his guardian, naming the baby Gorynych.
«Any old fairy tale was once new — so we decided and came up with a completely new story, which is not based on known plots, but is told in the best traditions of Russian fairy tales. We are making this movie with the same team with which made “The Little Humpbacked Horse,” “At the Command of the Pike,” and “Flint,” noted producer Sergei Seliyanov

According to him, several musical numbers are planned in the film.

Scriptwriter Alexander Arkhipov added that “this story is about how important it is to love. To love not only those who are related to you by blood. To paraphrase Exupery, “we are responsible for those we love.”

Producer Alexander Gorokhov explained that the basis for working on the character of Gorynych, just as it was with the Little Humpbacked Horse, is acting.
«Yes, our character, who does not speak, is a dragon, although he is still very small, but he still needs to be played. The basis for creating facial expressions is manual animation based on an actor’s reference. We will not resort to facial mocap technology, but he will appear on the screen using computer graphics, it will be a Full CG character,” he said.
