The cars will reach dealers in the European market in November of this year. The Germans have so far announced the starting price of a “regular” liftback.
Audi has been producing the A5 since 2007, the second generation appeared in 2017. Previously, the family included a liftback, coupe and convertible, but the two-door models did not reach the third generation. At the same time, the new family included a station wagon, which was previously sold under the symbol A4: the fact is that, according to the new strategy, it was decided to leave even numbers for “electric trains,” but now the company has introduced new products with internal combustion engines.

The Germans have declassified the Audi A5 liftback and station wagon and their “charged” versions of the Audi S5. The list of differences between the new generation five-doors includes differently designed LED taillights and head optics with different options for dynamic effects. In addition, the models received a reshaped radiator grille, enlarged air intakes in the lower part of the front bumper, as well as wider fenders.

The presented cars of the Audi A5 family are based on the new PPC (Premium Platform Combustion) platform, which is a modernized version of the MLB Evo “trolley”. The company said that the new “fives” have become longer and wider compared to their predecessors, and the distance between the axles has increased by 68 mm and is now 2900 mm. The five-door cars have had their suspension and steering reconfigured; adaptive suspension is available as an option.

The interior of the Audi A5 family of cars is designed in accordance with the modern corporate style. On the front panel there is a large horizontally elongated curved display that combines an 11.9-inch diagonal virtual instrument panel, as well as a 14.5-inch touchscreen for the Audi MMI infotainment system. The cars also received an upgraded projection screen; an additional 10.9-inch diagonal display is provided for the front passenger.

At the start of sales, the new Audi A5 liftback and station wagon will be offered with various equipment. The base is a 2.0-liter TFSI petrol turbo-four, available in two power options – 150 and 204 hp. Both versions can have front-wheel drive, the second is still available with the quattro all-wheel drive system.

More in the line there is an updated 2.0-liter TDI turbodiesel (power is 204 hp and maximum torque is 400 Nm), working in tandem with a 48-volt “electric booster” (gives an additional 24 hp) as part of the MHEV system plus. Drive – front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

Let us note that for now the Germans have announced the starting price of a “regular” liftback: in the home market, in Germany, such a car can be bought for at least 45,200 euros (equivalent to approximately 4.35 million rubles at the current exchange rate).
