MOSCOW, July 19 The case of the attack by migrants on State Duma deputy Mikhail Matveyev in Samara will be investigated under the article on attempted murder, the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation reported.
Previously, Matveev posted several videos on his Telegram channel, which depicted a conflict in Samara, presumably between migrants and local residents. The deputy said that he tried to stop the conflict, but one of the migrants hit him on the head, as a result of which Matveev received a cut on his scalp. The Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case of hooliganism.
According to the Investigative Committee, three participants in the incident, including a minor, have been identified and detained; the investigation intends to petition the court for their arrest.
“»Taking into account the circumstances of the incident and the public outcry, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee instructed the acting head of the Investigative Committee for the Samara Region Kolbasin A.I. to reclassify the actions of the attackers as attempted murder, to report on the progress of the investigation and the established circumstances,” the message says.
It is emphasized that the execution of the order has been placed under control in the central office of the department.
