Russian forward of Utah “Mikhail Sergachev said that he was unable to persuade the players of the National Hockey League (NHL) Tampa Bay Lightning club Nikita Kucherov and Andrei Vasilevsky to take part in the “Match of the Year” with the stars of the Continental Hockey League (KHL).
On Saturday, the “Match of the Year” will take place in Moscow, in which NHL and KHL stars will play. The meeting will begin at 15:00 Moscow time.
«I tried to persuade Kucherov and Vasilevsky to come to the match, but they had slightly different plans. It didn’t work out, they didn’t fly to Russia. Although I immediately started persuading them, objectively, these are superstars in world hockey. Maybe next year it will work out. Now I couldn’t do anything. I didn’t offer money, but I offered all sorts of goodies, for example, captaincy to Kucherov,” Sergachev told reporters before the match.
