The Q4 e-tron crossover is currently the most popular electric Audi model in Europe, but the German company wants to make it even more popular : after the recent update of the entire Q4 e-tron family, which also includes the coupe-shaped crossover Q4 Sportback e-tron, the most affordable version with index 35, equipped with a battery with a capacity of 55 kWh, has returned to the range.
< p>The compact crossover Audi Q4 e-tron, which is based on Volkswagen's modular MEB platform, debuted in the spring of 2019. Last fall, the Q4 e-tron and its coupe-like version, the Q4 Sportback e-tron, underwent a comprehensive technical update, which made it possible not to bend the model's sales curve amid a global slowdown in demand for electric vehicles. According to the analytical agency JATO Dynamics, last year the Audi Q4 e-tron in all its variations sold 47,044 units in Europe. (+69% compared to sales in 2022), and sales in the first half of this year amounted to 24,456 units. (+9% compared to sales in January-June 2023).

In the Audi Q4 e-tron range There was already a version with index 35, it was offered in 2021 and 2022, but then for some reason disappeared from the range. Yesterday, the Audi press service announced the resumption of sales of the Audi Q4 35 e-tron with updated, more energy-efficient technology and revised basic equipment.

The only electric motor in the Audi Q4 35 e-tron is installed on the rear axle, its maximum output is 125 kW (170 hp) and 310 Nm, this crossover accelerates to 100 km/h in 9 seconds, the maximum speed is limited to 160 km /h. The total battery capacity is 55 kWh, of which 52 kWh is available to the consumer. The range on one charge, depending on the body type and equipment, is 315-365 km on the WLTP cycle. The maximum charging power of the battery is 145 kW, you can replenish the charge from 10% to 80% in 25 minutes.

The updated Audi Q4 35 e-tron costs in Germany from 45,600 euros; for the Sportback version you need to pay at least 47,600 euros. For this money, the crossover offers a very generous set of active and passive safety systems, an updated MMI multimedia system with integrated ChatGPT and the ability to install external applications (for example, Spotify), an electric tailgate (activated by a “kick” of the foot under the rear bumper), heated front seats and much more, but at the same time, the “base” is equipped with 19-inch steel wheels with caps, which are absurd by the standards of the premium segment. Rear drum brakes are a pain point for all MEB models: from an efficiency point of view, there are no problems with them, but they look undignified, especially if you order openwork 21-inch alloy wheels instead of standard steel wheels.

Add, that the price of 45,600 euros can hardly be called affordable even for the relatively wealthy mass European consumer — electric cars on the MEB platform, unfortunately, turned out to be too expensive with a rather mediocre technical filling. For comparison, let's say that the Audi Q3 petrol compact crossover now costs in Germany from 38,300 euros.
