In the first half of 2024, about 10 thousand families received mortgages outside their home region — almost every third mortgage borrower, said Alexey Kosyakov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of DOM.RF Bank. The volume of lending within the framework of interregional transactions amounted to about 66.5 billion rubles, 1.6 times more than in the same period last year.
“The digitalization of banking products and services has made it possible not only to increase the convenience and speed of service, but also to erase administrative and territorial boundaries between regions. About 80% of interregional transactions were carried out remotely,” noted Alexey Kosyakov.
The largest amount of housing from other regions was purchased in Moscow and the Moscow region (for a total of 28 billion and 12 billion rubles, an increase of 2 and 1.3 times, respectively, compared to the first half of last year), St. Petersburg (4.5 billion rubles, 1.6 times), Krasnodar Krai (4.3 billion rubles, 1.4 times), Tyumen (3.5 billion rubles, 2 times) and Leningrad (3.1 billion rubles, +10%) regions. The regions of attraction also include the Republic of Tatarstan (RUB 1.1 billion, 3.1 times), Novosibirsk (RUB 1.1 billion, 1.3 times), Sverdlovsk (RUB 1 billion, 2.1 times), Rostov (more than RUB 900 million, 3 times) and Voronezh (RUB 800 million, 2.6 times) regions.
“Biometric technologies also make it possible to apply for a mortgage from anywhere in the country. With its help, residents of 12 regions of the country have already received a mortgage, and this list continues to grow. Remote identification when opening an account allows you to purchase an apartment or a house, being thousands of kilometers away from its location. This saves time and money for citizens who plan to improve their housing conditions,” commented Nikolai Kozak, Deputy Chairman of the Board of DOM.RF Bank.
Most often, interregional transactions were conducted by families from the capital region, St. Petersburg, Khanty-Mansiysk, Krasnodar, Ufa, Salekhard, Rostov-on-Don, Chelyabinsk and Samara.
