MOSCOW, July 22 Polish tennis player Hubert Hurkacz will miss the Olympic Games in Paris due to an injury sustained at Wimbledon.
Hurkach injured his knee and withdrew during the second round match at Wimbledon against Frenchman Arthur Fiss in early July.
«»My recovery is going very well, but the team and I decided that I will not be ready for the Olympics in Paris. This is a very difficult decision, because I always dreamed of representing Poland at the Games, of having the opportunity to win a medal for the national team. But “Unfortunately, my health will not allow me to do this this year,” Hurkacz said on Instagram*.
Hurkacz is a Wimbledon 2021 semi-finalist and winner of 12 Association of Tennis Professionals tournaments, eight of them in singles.
The Olympic Games will be held in Paris from July 26 to August 11.
