MOSCOW, July 25 Russia's number one tennis player Daniil Medvedev will play Australia's Rinki Hijikata in the first round of the Olympic tennis tournament at the Paris Games.
The draw took place on Thursday. Medvedev is seeded fourth in the competition.
The second round of the tournament could feature a match between the two most decorated tennis players in the history of the Grand Slam — Serbian Novak Djokovic (1) and Spaniard Rafael Nadal. Djokovic will begin his journey in Paris with a match against Australian Matthew Ebden, and Nadal will play in the first round against Hungarian Marton Fucsovics.
Another Russian, Roman Safiullin, will begin the tournament with a match against Chilean Alejandro Tabilo (15), and Pavel Kotov will play Stan Wawrinka from Switzerland.
The current Wimbledon and Roland Garros champion, Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz (2), will play in the first round against Lebanese Hadi Habib. Olympic champion of the Tokyo Games Alexander Zverev from Germany (3) will begin the defense of his title with a match against Spaniard Jaume Munar.
