MOSCOW, July 26 The government has approved a list of Russian programs that must be pre-installed in 2025 on smartphones, tablets, personal computers, all-in-ones and Smart TVs, according to a message on the Cabinet's website.

«Thus, the list provides for the pre-installation of 19 programs for smartphones and tablets. These include a search engine, navigators, a mail service, programs for accessing social networks, a voice assistant, a messenger, the Mir payment service, State Services, and the RuStore application store,» the release says.
Computers and all-in-ones must have a browser, office software, and an antivirus, and TVs with a digital control unit must have 18 programs, including various video services, programs for accessing the Internet and social networks.
The law on the mandatory pre-installation of Russian programs on smartphones, tablets, computers, and TVs with Smart TV function sold in Russia came into force in April 2021. The selection of programs for the list is handled by the Ministry of Digital Development — these are the most popular applications with an audience of at least 500 thousand users.
