At least two new SUVs should be presented in the coming months. The new-generation Patrol SUV will probably lose its V8 engine, and the Murano may switch from a V6 to a turbocharged four.
In March of this year, Nissan published a video that showed many restyled and completely new models. At that time, it was impossible to figure out who was who. But now we can take a closer look at four future SUVs: they were announced in the company's financial report.
Of course, we are interested in darkened cars — we do not pay attention to the already presented new Infiniti QX80 and Nissan Kicks, the restyled Note Aura and the «charged» electric car Ariya Nismo. So, in the picture we see two SUVs and two crossovers.
Most likely, these are the next Nissan Patrol and Armada 1/2 Most likely, these are the next Nissan Patrol and Armada 2/2
All-terrain vehicles are probably the global Nissan Patrol and its American version, which, we recall, bears the name Armada. By the way, the QX80 is their brother. Apparently, the new generation Patrol and Armada will have different decor: in particular, the current cars have different bumpers and radiator grilles. But there will be one engine for everyone. We are talking about a petrol twin-turbo V6 3.5; in the new Infiniti QX80 for the USA it produces 456 hp. and 698 Nm. The naturally aspirated V8 5.6 will be retired. The V6 4.0 engine (the same as the old Patrol in the Middle East) will also apparently be removed.
And this is the future Nissan Murano
The crossover on the right is most likely the next Nissan Murano. Test prototypes have already been caught by photo spies more than once, and they have the same silhouette as the car in the report. In addition, the SUV will have a radiator grille with horizontal stripes, and a dashboard will be installed in the cabin. American specialized media predict a new engine for the Murano: supposedly, instead of the current naturally aspirated V6 3.5, the model will receive a gasoline turbocharged four. And that's all the details for now.
Unfortunately, this crossover could not be identified
But there is no information at all about the fourth upcoming SUV. It is only clear that the brand is preparing a compact crossover.
According to preliminary data, the new Nissan Armada and Murano will debut in the US before the end of this year. The global Patrol and an unknown SUV may be presented next year.
