MAKHACHKALA, July 28 The court has arrested three residents of Kaspiysk suspected of creating a terrorist group to blow up a church together with its parishioners, the press service of the Supreme Court of Dagestan reports.
«The Sovetsky District Court of Makhachkala has considered the petitions of the investigative bodies to choose a preventive measure in the form of detention for three residents of the city of Kaspiysk… According to the materials received, no later than June 2024, the men, having previously united into a stable group, created a terrorist community with the aim of blowing up the Church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God together with its parishioners in Kaspiysk, as well as to commit other especially serious crimes,» the report says.
According to the investigation, the suspects independently made an explosive device, which they were supposed to use by detonating it in the church building.
It is specified that they were remanded in custody for a period of 2 months.
