Orban: Opening of the Olympics showed that the West does not have a common moral foundation
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics showed the West lacks a common moral foundation. The politician made the statement during a speech in the city of Băile Tusnad.
According to Orban, Western countries believe that «nation states no longer exist,» and because of this they deny the existence of «a common culture and a common morality built on it.»
«If you watched the opening of the Olympic Games yesterday,» Orban added, «you could see this.»
The politician believes that Central European countries, on the contrary, defend the preservation of a common set of values from which common moral demands are built on a biblical basis.
