Honda has declassified the modernized Civic for Asia. The restyling program is generally the same as in America. At the same time, in Japan, for example, the model also had a “warmed up” version, and it distinguished itself not only with its decor.
The standard restyled Honda Civic family debuted in the US back in May, and in July, a sports sedan with the Si prefix was presented there. Now, the brand has declassified the updated model intended for the Asian region. Moreover, Honda shared details about two versions at once – for Thailand and Japan. Note that in the first country, the Civic is available exclusively as a sedan, while on the Japanese market, on the contrary, there is only a hatchback.

Externally, cars for Asia as a whole have changed in the same way as in America. The Honda Civic received a new and slightly more aggressive front bumper, and separate foglights were abandoned. The radiator grille has become larger, in addition, it has a honeycomb pattern. The palette of body colors has also been expanded, and wheels of a different design have appeared. In the cabin there is multimedia with a 9-inch tablet and Google services.

The RS version stands apart. In Thailand, this configuration was available before, and it differs from the regular sedan in its «sporty» accents: for example, the trunk lid of the local Civic RS is adorned with a black spoiler, and the interior has a red insert and similarly colored stitching. For Japan, the RS version is new, and it differs not only in decor. Thus, the Japanese «R-eska» has a reconfigured suspension, and only this version now has a six-speed manual, and the gearbox is new — with improved response.

If in the States the standard Civic after the restyling lost turbo four 1.5 (but the Civic Si retained the turbo engine), then in Asia it was left. On the Thai sedan, the engine produces 178 hp, on the Japanese hatchback — 182 hp, the engine is combined with a variator. In Thailand and Japan, you can still buy a hybrid Civic, the e: HEV installation includes a naturally aspirated 2.0 and an electric motor, the total output is 184 hp. But the Civic RS hatchback is only available with a 1.5T.
