Russian high school students will take part in the First International Olympiad on Artificial Intelligence (IOAI), which will be held in Bulgaria from August 9 to 15, 2024. The team is coached by leading Russian experts in the field of artificial intelligence — teachers from the Central University, as well as invited experts.
The Central University coaching team includes Alexander Dyakonov— Head of the Artificial Intelligence department, Data Scientist No. 1 in the world according to the Kaggle platform (2012) and the best teacher in Russia in the field of IT (2014), who has already trained a hundred ML specialists, Ivan Stelmakh — Doctor of Science, who received a degree from Carnegie Mellon University, Professor at NES, Product Manager at the Central University, and Alexander Gushchin— Industrial Head of the Artificial Intelligence Department, Data Scientist No. 5 in the world according to Kaggle (2017), author of courses on machine learning on Coursera, Karpov.Courses and in Harbour.Space, Full-stack ML Engineer, who worked at Yandex, Avito, Iterative.ai.
The team is also trained by invited experts from AI Masters, Deep Learning School and international companies.
The Russian team includes students and graduates of the Moscow school «Letovo», winners and prize winners of various Olympiads, competitions and conferences.
- Nikita Kurlaev— a graduate with a special diploma Magna Cum Laude for excellent studies and achievements in several areas at once, a prize-winner of the All-Russian School Olympiad (VsOSh) in computer science in 2024, a prize-winner of the VsOSh in technology in 2023 in the profile «Information Security», a winner of the autumn Tournament of Cities in 2024, a winner and prize-winner of various listed Olympiads in computer science.
- Andrey Gritsaev— also a Letovo graduate with a Cum Laude diploma for excellent academic performance and special achievements in his field, winner of the 2024 Moscow School Olympiad in Informatics among 10th–11th graders, entering the top 13 among all participants, winner of the City Tournament in Mathematics in 2022 and 2024, participant of the All-Russian and prize-winner of the 2024 Moscow Team School Olympiads in Programming (VKOShP and MKOSHP), prize-winner of the regional stage of the 2024 VSOSh in Informatics.
- Andrey Gromiko — 10th grade student, winner of the 2022 and 2023 VSOSh in Economics, participant of the 2024 VSOSh in Informatics, winner of the 2024 VKOShP in Informatics.
- Anastasia Gainullina is a tenth-grader, winner of the All-Russian scientific and practical conference «Start in Innovation» in 2024, two-time winner of the All-Russian Olympiad in English in 2023 and 2024, winner of the Baltic Scientific and Engineering Competition in 2024.
Talented schoolchildren from 34 countries, including China, Japan, Canada, Sweden, the Netherlands, the USA and others, will take part in the Olympiad. Teams will compete in the creation, use and improvement of artificial intelligence technologies.
