The mid-size crossover of the American brand in China is available with a six- and seven-seat interior layout.
The Lincoln brand belongs to Ford company, it has been producing the closest relative of the Explorer crossover — the current version of the Aviator — since 2019. The model is produced both in the USA and in China, and until recently these versions were practically the same. The American SUV underwent a restyling in early February of this year, and now it’s the turn of the version for the “heavenly” market.

Now the models have several visual differences. The refreshed Lincoln Aviator for China received a different large radiator grille with voluminous vertical chrome strokes (the American version has a black mesh pattern). Under it is an additional narrow overlay, which is silver in the «Chinese» and made of black glossy plastic in the «standard» crossover.
At the same time, the new head optics are the same as those of the «American»: the headlights are equipped with LED «sticks» that visually pierce the radiator grille on both sides. The modified, more sporty design of the lower part of the front bumper with built-in air intakes also remained the same.
The Chinese updated crossover also has silver decor on the sides: we are talking about door inserts, glazing line edging (while the central and rear pillars are black) and roof rails. The model also has traditional exterior mirrors with black housings and regular door handles painted in body color.
The headlights of the refreshed «celestial» Aviator have the same shape as the American version, but they have a slightly different light pattern, and the brand name is located on the wide plate connecting them (the SUV for the USA has the inscription higher). The cars also have different exhaust pipes: the Chinese one has a pair of double hexagons on each side, while the American one has two ovals.
The overall length of the updated Lincoln Aviator for the Chinese market is 5080 mm, the width is 2022 mm, the height is 1759 mm, and the distance between the axles is 3025 mm. The cabin can be designed for both seven and six passengers (similar layout options are also available to Americans). Thus, the second row can be either a sofa for three or two separate chairs.
The main difference in the interior of the refreshed SUV for the Celestial Empire is a different front panel. The new model has a different 12.3-inch virtual instrument cluster (it has a different shape and no visor), and the American Aviator does not have such a large display as the Chinese SUV. The 27-inch display combines the touchscreen of the infotainment system and the touchscreen for the front passenger. In front of the driver is a new two-spoke steering wheel with a truncated rim.
The Chinese version of the updated car has a list of equipment: a projection display, front seats (as well as second-row captain's chairs) with various electrical adjustments, heating and a massage function. The second row passengers also have a 5.8-inch touchscreen, with which they can adjust the air conditioning, sound system, seat heating and ventilation.
Under the hood of the Lincoln Aviator, intended for the Chinese market, there is a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, the output of which has increased from 355 hp in the pre-reform version to 367 hp in the current one (the current «American» has 406 hp). The engine works in tandem with the same ten-speed automatic transmission. The drive is all-wheel drive only.
