The main competition in artistic gymnastics has ended — FONBET Russian Cup 2024

FONBET Russian Cup was held from July 31 to August 4, 2024 in Novosibirsk at the Evgeniy Podgorny Artistic Gymnastics Training Center. For athletes, this is the most important national competition, which takes place in the middle of the gymnastics season.

Leading Russian athletes took part in the competition: the leader of the men's national team Daniil Marinov and other promising gymnasts. The total number of participants was 53 athletes from 22 cities of Russia and the Republic of Belarus.

Over five days, 12 sets of medals were awarded, but special attention was focused on the individual all-around. The absolute champion of the competition was Kazan gymnast Daniil Marinov, winner of the 2023 Russian Cup, who showed the best results in the individual all-around (169.400 points) and floor exercises (14.266).

Despite a significant lead over his rivals, he had a hard time in the finals on individual apparatus — the country has grown up with many point specialists who are ready to fight for medals. Thus, the titled athlete won the championship in the individual all-around with a minimal advantage: 30-year-old Kirill Prokopyev was 0.033 points behind him.

Ilya Zaika won gold in the rings exercise, confirming his title of champion in this type of exercise. The gymnast has won gold at the 2023 Russian Cup, 2024 Russian Championship, and 2024 Russian Cup. Grigory Klimentyev took second place (14.466), and Viktor Kalyuzhin took third (13.833).

Ranel Safiullin won in the pommel horse exercise (14.400), Sergei Naidin took second place (14.333), and Denis Tovpinets took third (13.966).

In the women's vault, Anna Kalmykova won (13.617), followed by Eleonora Afanasyeva (13.400) and Elizaveta Us (13.083). On the uneven bars, Lyudmila Roshchina became the champion (14.666), Ulyana Perebinosova won silver (14.566), and Ksenia Zelyaeva won bronze (14.500).

Tournament MVPs Stanislav Isaev from Kazan and Ksenia Zelyaeva from Malakhovka received 100 thousand rubles each from FONBET.
