The refreshed prestigious four-door of the Korean brand will go on sale on the domestic market later this month.
Kia introduced the K8 sedan in 2021: in the brand's lineup, the four-door replaced the model that was sold with the K7 index on the domestic market, and under the name Cadenza in other countries. The «eight» cannot boast of results at the moment: in Korea, in the first half of 2024, customers bought about 12.5 thousand units, which is almost half as much as in January-June last year. The company expects that the restyling will help increase interest in the prestigious four-door: the first official photos appeared at the end of last month, and now the updated version of the Kia K8 has been completely declassified.

During the update, the sedan's appearance was radially changed. The design became futuristic due to the seemingly «flowing» vertical blocks of headlights between which there is an LED line consisting of small inclined strokes. A similar design of optics has already been reflected in the exterior of other models of the brand, such as the restyled Sorento crossover and the new four-door Kia K4 (will replace Forte/Cerato).
The refreshed «eight» also has a different radiator grille (no more diamonds) and an air intake integrated into the lower part of the front bumper. The sedan retained traditional outside mirrors, regular door handles, a «shark fin» antenna on the roof, and a small spoiler on the edge of the trunk lid.
The rear lights of the same shape are still connected to each other across the entire width of the stern by a thin strip, but the light pattern has been changed. The rear bumper has also received a new design with a pair of horizontal reflectors and hidden elements of the exhaust system. The model has become slightly larger due to increased overhangs: the front has grown by 10 mm, the rear – 25 mm.
The Kia K8 interior also received many changes during the update. The front panel is designed differently, the dashboard, which combines a virtual instrument panel with a touchscreen infotainment system with new graphics, has slightly changed shape. The climate control unit, located under the central ventilation deflectors, looks different. The models also changed the lighting and added new materials for the interior trim. All versions of the sedan received 10 airbags in the list of standard equipment.

During the restyling, the developers did not touch the model's technology. The Kia K8 lineup in Korea will still include a pair of naturally aspirated gasoline engines — a 198-horsepower 2.5-liter GDI, as well as a 30-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 GDI. The range will also include a 3.5-liter gas V6 LPI with a capacity of 240 hp. These options will go on sale before the end of this month. Later (after Kia receives the required certification), the HEV hybrid (without the ability to charge from the electrical network) will return to the family. Let us remind you that its installation is based on a 1.6-liter T-GDI turbo four (output — 230 hp). All modifications have front-wheel drive, all-wheel drive is available only for cars with a 300-horsepower V6 engine.
The prices of the updated Kia K8 sedan on the Korean market are already known. The starting price of the basic four-door is 37.36 million won (equivalent to about 2.41 million rubles at the current exchange rate), and for the top version they ask for at least 51.67 million won (about 3.33 million rubles).
