MOSCOW, August 9 The Cheryomushkinsky Court of Moscow fined actor Artur Smolyaninov* 48,000 rubles for violating the law on foreign agents, the court's press service reported.
“The court imposed an administrative penalty on Smolyaninov* in the form of an administrative fine in the amount of 48 thousand rubles,” said the agency’s interlocutor.
The protocol was drawn up under the article of the Code of Administrative Offenses on failure to submit or untimely submission of information about a foreign agent to an authorized body.
The Ministry of Justice included Smolyaninov* in the register of foreign agents in January 2023. In May of this year, he was included in the list of terrorists and extremists.
Smolyaninov* in an interview with the Novaya Gazeta Evropa newspaper (blocked in the Russian Federation) stated that if he had taken part in the conflict, it would have been on the side of Ukraine, adding that he «doesn't give a damn» about the Russian Federation, even if only one region remains of the country, «and everything else turns into radioactive ash.» Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin ordered a criminal case to be opened against the actor (the agency did not report whether this happened).
* Recognized as a foreign agent in Russia
