Acura is preparing another crossover: the first teaser of the new product has been published

It is assumed that the production version of the model will be based on a new platform developed by Honda.

The Japanese brand Acura, which belongs to Honda, has announced another new product. There is little official information yet: it is known, for example, that it will debut as a concept soon — during the Monterey Car Week event, which will be held in California next week. The company also said that it will be a crossover, but they decided to keep its name a secret for now.

The Japanese manufacturer accompanied this announcement with a single teaser, which slightly revealed the appearance of the show car. Judging by it, the new product is a crossover with a coupe-like body in bright blue. It is expected that the product model, which will be based on the concept being prepared for debut, will be shown in 2025.

The photo shows part of the stern with a sloping rear window and the «sculptural» shapes of the trunk door and rear fenders. In addition, you can see the illuminated inscription with the brand name and the lights, made in the form of a single element: the upper part is a solid red stripe, the lower part is created from thin vertical strokes.

It is known that the future Acura SUV will receive fully electric technology, however, there are no details about it yet. The company also said that the new product will be the first production model to be based on the new Honda development platform designed for the next electric vehicles.

In addition, the company said that production will be established at a modernized plant in Ohio, which will become the main one for the production of Japanese-brand electric cars intended for the North American market. The launch date of the unnamed new product (the company has so far designated it only as Acura Performance EV) has not yet been announced.

In the meantime, Acura does not forget about current models. Thus, the updated RDX crossover was recently presented, which was refreshed due to a new radiator grille, other sets of wheels and a revised interior. The developers did not touch the technology during the update.
