This spring, the American company demonstrated a new generation of the Charger model in two body styles at once — a liftback and a coupe. We decided to present another version, which could become the successor to the Magnum model, produced in the 2000s.
The history of the Magnum model began in 1978, this name was given to the coupe, which for a short time became the successor to the Charger model. Then there were a couple more generations of the car, sold in Brazil and Mexico (until 1988). We are most interested in the fourth generation of Magnum, which is often found in Russia. This is a station wagon, first demonstrated in 2004 and made on the basis of the Chrysler 300 sedan, which is no less well-known in our market. The car was produced for only a few years (until 2008) and did not receive a direct successor.

The new generation Charger, presented several months ago, also received an unusual liftback body, why not make a station wagon, which could become a kind of successor to the same Magnum? Especially since these models are close in size, especially in terms of wheelbase — 3073 mm for the new Charger and 3048 for the fourth-generation Magnum. In addition to the new body type, the car depicted in the renders also received wheel arch extensions, which are an integral part of many modifications of the previous generation Charger, and the Magnum station wagon has similar ones (although here they are directly stamped elements of the body, and not separate parts).

The new Dodge Charger is built on the STLA Large modular platform with fully independent multi-link suspension at the front and rear, as well as adaptive electronically adjustable shock absorbers. The car is presented both in fully electric versions and with internal combustion engines. The former have a 400-volt architecture and a two-motor power plant (one motor per axle). The maximum power of the power plant of the initial modification Charger Daytona R/T is 503 hp, the more powerful Charger Daytona Scat Pack — 679 hp.

Traditional modifications have an inline 3.0-liter «biturbo six» Hurricane and have the Sixpack prefix. On the Charger Sixpack HO coupe, this engine produces 558 hp, on the Charger Sixpack SO liftback — 426 hp. All versions have all-wheel drive, models with an internal combustion engine — an 8-speed automatic.
