Athlete Dies in Donetsk After Accident with Cyclists

DONETSK, August 13 The athlete who was injured in a traffic accident with underage cyclists the day before died in Donetsk from her injuries, Acting Minister of Youth, Sports and Tourism of the DPR Yuri Martynov reported on his Telegram channel.
«Despite all the efforts of doctors, the young cyclist… who received severe injuries in an accident yesterday, died,» Martynov wrote.
He noted that the girl was the winner of republican and all-Russian competitions, the leader of the republican team, expressing condolences to the relatives of the deceased.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic reported on its Telegram channel that on Monday an accident occurred on the Donetsk Ring Road, in which a group of underage cyclists were injured. According to the department, 7 teenagers were injured in the accident, 2 of whom were taken to a medical facility. It is noted that the students of the sports school were training on the suburban ring road. A minibus was following the column of teenagers. Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances and degree of guilt of the participants in the accident.
