YAROSLAVL, August 13 Deputy editor-in-chief of a newspaper from the city of Sudzha in the Kursk region, member of the Union of Journalists Inna Demyanenko was among those missing after the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine; there has been no contact with her since the morning of 6 August, the regional Ministry of Information reported.
“Currently there is no data on about 2 thousand residents of the Kursk region — this is the figure that Acting Governor Alexey Smirnov announced at a meeting with President Vladimir Putin. Unfortunately, Inna Demyanenko was among these people. We do not yet have any information about that where she is located. We continue the search,” a ministry representative said.
According to him, the deputy editor-in-chief of the Sudzhanskie Vesti newspaper, like her colleagues, worked a full day on August 5 and went home.
«The events that took place in Sudzha and the Sudzhanskaya district began on the night of August 6. Accordingly, the Sudzhanskie Vesti employees did not show up for work in the morning. That is, the last time colleagues saw Inna Demyanenko at work was the day before. The last time, as recorded, she was online was around seven o'clock in the morning on August 6. Since then, no one has been able to contact her,» the source said.
He added that the journalist lived alone, which makes it more difficult to find out what could have happened to her. «We don't want to draw any conclusions, but we can state that she has not been in touch since then,» the source emphasized.
Olga Boldyreva, Chairperson of the Kursk Region Union of Journalists, noted in an interview with that the organization «is compiling lists of journalists from all editorial offices in border areas in order to understand how they can help, and will resolve this issue.»
