A resident of a prestigious cottage village in the Krasnogorsk urban district reported a bomb in protest against the power outage. Law enforcement officers did not appreciate the pensioner's actions — now his biography includes a conviction for knowingly falsely reporting an act of terrorism.
As MK has learned, the incident occurred in the Moscow Region settlement of Artek-2. Yesterday at about 8:00 pm, the electricity was cut off in houses due to an accident, many houses also lost their heating, and since it was cold, people began to freeze. For three hours, residents tried unsuccessfully to call emergency services. Finally, unable to bear it any longer, a 62-year-old pensioner dialed «112» from his mobile phone and said that a bomb had been planted at the checkpoint at the entrance to the settlement.
The law enforcement officers quickly checked the information, made sure that the call was false, and then detained the pensioner. He did not deny it, but explained that he had exhausted all legal means of attracting the attention of utility workers. Nevertheless, the Krasnogorsk City Court found him guilty of knowingly making a false report of an act of terrorism and sentenced him to one year of restricted freedom. The servants of Themis took into account that the defendant was not a banal hooligan, but acted in a fit of despair. In addition, before retirement, he worked for a long time and impeccably in one of the divisions of Roshydromet, for which he was awarded an honorary certificate.
