MOSCOW, August 15 The owner of a hotel in Lobnya, where two people died and three more were injured in a fire, has been arrested in a case of providing unsafe services, the Moscow Region Main Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia reported on its Telegram channel.
Earlier, the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation for the Moscow Region stated that in Lobnya, rescuers were extinguishing a residential building of 200 square meters, 2 people died. A criminal case was opened on this fact for the provision of services that do not meet the requirements for the safety of life and health.
«A 43-year-old man, who is the owner of the hotel where the fire occurred, has been detained. He is suspected of committing a crime under Part 3 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (provision of services that do not meet the requirements of life and health safety). At the request of the investigation, the court has chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention for the suspect,» the statement says.
It is emphasized that the man will be charged in the near future.
According to the investigation, a fire occurred in a hotel in Lobnya on August 12, after it was extinguished, two people were hospitalized in serious condition and later died. It is noted that three more received burns of varying severity.
The Investigative Committee believes that the suspect, being an individual entrepreneur, misused a residential building in which he provided residential rental services that did not meet fire safety requirements.
