UFA, August 16 Rescuers are looking for a pensioner who was sucked into an open gate of a reservoir in Bashkiria, the regional Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reports.
«At the Nugush hydraulic engineering junction in the Meleuzovsky district, a man was sucked into an open lock. Currently, employees of the State Inspectorate for Small Vessels of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and divers of the State Committee of the Republic of Bashkortostan for Emergencies are working at the scene. A search is underway for the 71-year-old man,» the release says.
Preliminary, according to eyewitnesses, he was swimming near the locks on the territory of the reservoir, where prohibitory signs have been installed. Operational investigative measures are being carried out, the department added.
