The Italian company Automobili Pininfarina has prepared an open version of the Targamerica of its electric supercar Battista for the annual American automobile festival Monterey Car Week — after the premiere it will be given to an anonymous wealthy customer.
After the liquidation of the Geneva Motor Show, the main venue for the presentation of luxury cars has become the automobile week in Monterey (USA, California), where the wealthiest and most demanding car enthusiasts from all over the world flock every year in search of additions to their collections. The Pininfarina Battista Targamerica is a typical Monterey Car Week participant, this supercar was custom-built for a wealthy Pininfarina client.

Let us recall that the legendary Italian coachbuilder Pininfarina has belonged to the Indian company Mahindra & Mahindra since 2015. At the instigation of Indian curators, the automobile company Automobili Pininfarina was created on the basis of the studio in 2018, it is engaged in the development and production of elite electric cars. The debut model of Pininfarina as an automaker was the electric supercar Battista, it was created on the platform of the Croatian company Rimac and is, in fact, a derivative of the Rimac Nevera supercar. The Pininfarina Battista is limited to just 150 units.

In turn, an even smaller-scale spider without a windshield, the Pininfarina B95, was made on the Battista base last year — only ten of these will be made. And the Battista Targamerica targa presented today is the only one in the world made to order, which took a whole year to complete, taking into account the development of an individual design concept and exclusive finishing.

In a press release, Automobili Pininfarina said that the inspiration for the Battista Targamerica was the 1986 Ferrari Testarossa Spider, made by Pininfarina for then-Fiat CEO Gianni Agnelli. They say that the company has a long history of making one-off cars for its prestigious clients, and now it has returned to this practice as a full-fledged automaker, thus joining the ranks of Bugatti, which makes unique versions of its supercars by special order, for which, of course, it asks for a very generous surcharge on top of the base price.
The standard Pininfarina Battista costs from 2 million euros, the Pininfarina B95 — from 4.4 million euros. The price of the Battista Targamerica has not been disclosed, but we believe that this car cost the customer at least 5 million euros.

The lack of a roof did not worsen the appearance of the original supercar in the least, and the redesigned stern with transverse gills in the upper part looks even more impressive than that of the closed version of the Battista. The press release does not say anything about the roof of the Battista Targamerica, but judging by the connectors and seals on the upper edge of the windshield, it is there and is stored folded in the garage (if the roof is hard) or somewhere inside the body (if the roof is soft, fabric). At the customer’s request, a humidor for three cigars was built into the interior. It is located in the rear wall of the interior between the seats and is equipped with lighting that changes color depending on the selected driving mode.

The technical stuffing is standard: four electric motors (one per wheel) produce a total of 1900 hp, acceleration to 100 km/h takes less than 2 s, the maximum speed is more than 300 km/h, a full charge of the 120 kW h battery is enough for 500 km according to the WLTP cycle.
Despite the fact that Pininfarina emphasizes that the Battista Targamerica is absolutely unique and there will be no second one, this does not prevent another wealthy client from ordering a similar supercar with a different name, a different color scheme and a modified design of the external plumage. We believe that the management of Automobili Pininfarina is counting on those who want to make such an exclusive order, exhibiting the Battista Targamerica at Monterey Car Week 2024.
