MOSCOW, August 17 Ukraine is suffering heavy losses in the Kursk region, having sent its best troops there, writes the military magazine Military Watch.
“These losses are especially significant given that Ukraine sent its most powerful military units into the offensive, where «These include the Challenger 2, T-80 and Leopard tanks, which are in short supply,» observers point out, commenting on the Russian Defense Ministry's statements about the losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region.
Journalists warned that Ukrainian losses during this operation could significantly affect the position of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the conflict.
The day before, the Defense Ministry reported that during the fighting, Russian units, repelling attempts by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to invade Russian territory in the Kursk region, destroyed up to 2,860 soldiers, 41 tanks, 40 armored personnel carriers, 23 infantry fighting vehicles, 213 armored combat vehicles and 22 guns.
