MOSCOW, August 18 Barcelona footballers won an away victory over Valencia in the first round of the Spanish championship of the new season.
The meeting, which took place on Saturday in Valencia at the Mestalla, ended with a score of 2:1 in favor of the guests. Robert Lewandowski (45+5 and 48th minutes) scored a double for the winners, scoring the first goal from a pass by Lamine Yamal, and the second from a penalty. Hugo Duro (44) scored for the hosts.
The match with Valencia was the first official one at the helm of Barcelona for German coach Hans-Dieter Flick.
In another match of the day, Osasuna and Leganes tied 1:1. The visitors scored through Juan Cruz (22nd minute), and then Leganes goalkeeper Juan Soriano cut the ball into his own net (79).
