MOSCOW, August 17The Kazan International Film Festival «Altyn Minbar» («Golden Minbar») will host the non-competition program «War and Peace: New Territories», which includes 10 films about life in the new regions of Russia, the press service of the film festival reports.
«In addition to the fifty-one films in the competition program of the film festival, viewers will see 90 films in the non-competition and parallel lines. Of particular interest is the new non-competition program «War and Peace: New Territories». It brings together 10 works representing real life in the new regions of Russia,» the report says.
In particular, the program will show films by Yevgeny Mukhortin «Dolls, Books and War. Donetsk: December 2022», Zufar Davletshin «Zаряды бедой» and «Зачинники», debutant Daniil Yemelyanov «The Road».
Also, the programs «The Whole Family — to the Cinema», «The Turkic World», «BRICS Countries: Modern Cinema», «Islam in Faces» — a program for the 100th anniversary of Tatarstan cinema will be held out of competition.
«In addition, days of cinema of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan, Malaysian and Indian cinema are expected. In addition to screenings, viewers will meet with representatives of the countries presenting the films,» the press service added.
The XX Kazan International Festival «Altyn Minbar» will be held in the capital of Tatarstan from September 6 to 11, 2024. It will open with the Russian film «In the Embrace of a Tree» directed by Babak Hadzhepashi. The film festival will present 141 films from 40 countries. Turkish director of the series «Ertugrul» and «Foundation: Osman» Metin Gunay will head the festival jury.
