Belarusian military to practice launching missiles from Tor-M2K during exercises in Russia

MINSK, August 16 Belarusian military personnel will practice launching missiles from Tor-M2K systems on the move for the first time at the Russian Ashuluk training ground, the press service of the Belarusian Defense Ministry reported on Friday.
According to its data, Belarusian S-300 and Tor-M2K air defense systems are currently preparing for live firing at the Russian Ashuluk training ground.

The press service's message on the department's Telegram channel cites the words of the commander of the 15th anti-aircraft missile brigade, Andrei Bobylev, who said that the peculiarity of this exercise is the combat work of the Tor-M2K anti-aircraft missile systems for the first time directly on the move.
«The tactical and technical characteristics of this system allow combat work to be carried out both from a standstill and from a short stop, as well as on the move. This time, we will practice combat shooting on the move for the first time,» he explained.
Bobylev noted that the brigade's units are completing preparations for combat operations with live missile launches. «Special attention is being paid to the conduct of maneuverable combat operations by S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems. At the same time, Tor-M2K anti-aircraft missile systems provide cover for maneuverable S-300 anti-aircraft missile divisions,» he said.

Bobylev added that the exercise will improve the level of training of personnel of both S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems and Tor-M2 anti-aircraft missile batteries, including improving coherence in conducting maneuverable combat operations.

On August 13, a joint exercise of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces of Belarus and the Russian Aerospace Forces was launched at the Russian Ashuluk training ground. Deputy Commander of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces of the Belarusian Army Mikhail Matrosov reported that during August, according to the training plan of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces, an operational-tactical exercise with combat arms with live fire is being held on the territory of the Russian Federation. According to him, about four thousand servicemen and 150 units of equipment are planned to participate in the exercise, the main actions of which will be held at the Ashuluk training ground. The implementation of combat training missions with anti-aircraft missile forces, radio-technical forces and fighter aircraft is planned, Matrosov explained.
