During the meeting, which will take place in the cultural and educational at the Zotov Center, experts will talk about how to succinctly integrate public art into the urban environment and make it a tool for creating new points of attraction in the metropolis, as well as why public art influences the cultural consciousness of people.

Let us remind you that the STONE Art competition “Philosophy of New Forms” started in the fall of 2023 and was organized by the developer STONE with the support of the Moscow Architecture Committee. The winning project will be determined by the results of expert voting based on relevant criteria and technical parameters. Among the parameters for evaluating the work of the competitors are the originality of the project idea and its organic integration into the architectural ensemble, as well as the potential for implementation in the urban space. An agreement will be concluded with the author of the best draft design for the creation of an art object, which will be installed in the fall of 2024 on the main square of the STONE Towers office block at 19 Bumazhny Proezd.

“Art in urban space today is acquiring an increasingly important role. We are accustomed to modern buildings in an urban context, to advanced architecture. The emergence of new art objects connecting buildings and the urban environment is the next logical stage in the development of the metropolis. The goal of the architectural competition is, first of all, to act as a barometer of change. The wide range of participants allows us to see how sculptors and artists represent public art and what meanings today need to be embedded in city art objects in order to make them not just memorable, but also functional symbols of their districts,” said Sergei Kuznetsov, chief architect of Moscow.

The final part of the art initiative will be an expert discussion “Is there life in a city without art?” It will be attended by the chief architect of Moscow Sergei Kuznetsov, the founders of the Tsimailo Lyashenko and Partners bureau Alexander Tsimailo and Nikolai Lyashenko, the director of the Zotov center Daria Filippova and other professionals from the world of architecture and art. The event will take place on March 14 at 18:30 in the Zotov center. Anyone can attend the discussion by pre-registration.

“When launching an open competition, we understood the importance of participating in the discussion among architects, urbanists and artists who would present a critical view of the competitors’ projects. I can say that already at the selection stage the highest level of work performance is noticeable. Together with our colleagues on the expert council, we will soon determine the winning project, which by its appearance will help connect the premium office district with its historical surroundings,” emphasized STONE CEO Maxim Geyser.
