The convicted murderer escaped jail on Tuesday morning
Danish submarine killer Peter Madsen was on the loose in the western suburbs of Copenhagen on Tuesday morning, after mounting an audacious jail-break.
Madsen, who is serving a life sentence for the brutal murder of the Swedish journalist Kim Wall, reportedly threatened police that he was carrying a bomb and also may have wielded a pistol-like objects.
The Ekstra Bladet newspaper photographed the 49-year-old murderer sitting on the ground about 500 metres from Herstedvester Prison, surrounded by police.
In a statement, Copenhagen police said that a man had been arrested after a prison break but declined to identify the suspect.
