Joe Biden was declared the winner of the US presidential election on Saturday afternoon after the state of Pennsylvania was called for the Democratic candidate.
The former vice president and senator for Delaware became the first candidate to defeat a sitting president since Bill Clinton defeated George HW Bush in 1992. He will be the oldest person to ever assume the office when he is inaugurated on January 20th.
The result has reverberated around the world. Below is a selection of newspaper front pages and images from the US, UK and across the globe.
