The Korean brand introduced a hatchback designed for the European market: the model survived a planned restyling.
Hyundai releases your compact i20 since 2008. Over the past time, the model managed to change generation a couple of times. The third generation version, designed for the old-world market, was introduced in 2020. The hatchback sold 41,919 vehicles in Europe last year, down 28.7% from a year earlier, according to a report from the manufacturer. This year, the model has a plus: in the first quarter, dealers sold 11,495 cars on this market, which is 10% more than in January-March 2022.

Now it's time for a planned restyling, in which the developers significantly revised the appearance of the Hyundai i20. The «hatch» was equipped with more aggressive front and rear bumpers, the radiator grill was left approximately the same shape, but the «mesh» pattern was changed. The logo of the Korean brand «moved» a little higher — from the «grill» to the bar between the headlights. >The profile of the model has been updated with 16- and 17-inch alloy wheels of a new original design. Door handles are still traditional and are at different levels. The shape and pattern of the LED head optics and taillights are touched by the developers of the updated hatchback on steel. During the restyling of the car, the palette was expanded: new bright green, gray and blue shades for the body color appeared in the list of options. jpg» />The cabin also has its share of innovations. The basic version of the instrument panel is supplemented with a 4.2-inch LCD screen, a remote map update function in real time, and there are several USB-C ports. Richer versions are still available with a 10.25-inch virtual instrument cluster and wireless smartphone charging.

The equipment of the updated Hyundai i20 for the European market has remained the same. We are talking about «mild hybrid» installations, which are based on a 1.0-liter three-cylinder T-GDi gasoline turbo engine in two boost options — 98 and 118 hp. They work in tandem with a 48-volt «electronic weight». The pair is offered either a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission or a six-speed «mechanics» (iMT).
The European office of the company said that the production of the refreshed Hyundai i20 is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2023 at the Korean company's plant in Izmit (Turkey).
