The British company AC Cars held a full premiere of the all-new gasoline roadster and began taking orders for it. The minimum price is £ 285,000.
We already introduced readers to the AC Cobra GT Roadster in March of this year — then AC Cars published official renderings of the unexpected novelty and preliminary technical data, and the other day in There was a live premiere in London where some numbers were clarified.
The unexpected novelty of the AC Cobra GT Roadster was because in 2021 AC Cars said goodbye to the gasoline era and introduced the last, as it then seemed to it, an internal combustion engine model, the AC Ace RS, hoping to continue to deal exclusively with electric vehicles. But in the spring of 2022, AC Cars found a new CEO in the person of Swiss investor and entrepreneur David Konza, after which the company's vision for the future changed: instead of electric motorcycles based on old models, AC Cars released a completely new gasoline roadster with a V8 engine.
The AC Cobra GT Roadster is based on a spatial frame made of aluminum extruded profiles, and all exterior panels are made of carbon fiber, Italian firms Icona Design Group and Cecomp participated in the development of the body. A folding soft top is not provided, but there will be a removable hard top, which, when dismantled, will have to be stored in the garage. The curb weight of the new sports car is less than 1450 kg, overall length is 4225 mm, width is 1980 mm, height is 1290 mm, wheelbase is 2570 mm.
Under the hood of the AC Cobra GT Roadster is a 5.0-liter Ford V8 Coyote gasoline engine: the naturally aspirated version produces a maximum of 460 hp. and 570 Nm, compressor — 663 hp and 780 Nm. Gearbox — 6-speed «mechanics» or 10-speed «automatic», all power is transmitted to the rear wheels through a self-locking differential. The naturally aspirated roadster accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, top speed is 250 km/h, while the compressor version has 3.4 seconds and 278 km/h.
1/2 2/2Details on the design of the suspension are still missing. The steering mechanism is equipped with an electric booster, but it does not have a powerful brake booster — the driver will have to apply considerable effort to the floor pedal (a Triton racing pedal assembly is installed). The diameter of the front brake discs for a roadster with a compressor motor is 394 mm (6-piston calipers), the rear ones are 378 mm (4-piston calipers). On the atmospheric version, the brakes are more modest — 380 mm in front (6-piston calipers) and 330 mm in the rear (single-piston calipers). Wheels (19- or 21-inch) with center nut are shod with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires.

For the first time, the interior of the AC Cobra GT Roadster is shown in detail: it is much more spacious and comfortable than the classic Cobra, designed in the 60s of the last century by the legendary Carroll Shelby. Behind the sports seats with a carbon fiber frame, safety arches are installed. The front panel is made in a classic style, in the center with a slight shift towards the driver is an instrument panel with seven arrow dials, and below it is a multimedia touch screen (10.25 inches), which is almost inevitable for our century. Another sign of modernity is a plastic translucent projection screen on the steering column, which displays operational readings. The engine start button is located on the central tunnel under a red cover stylized as a cobra. The top-of-the-line 450W stock audio system is equipped with a subwoofer.
AC Cars will produce a new roadster on its own factory in England, the annual circulation will be only 250 copies, and the entire batch of the first year of production is already sold out, customers lined up and wait patiently — after all, the all-new Cobra, and even the canonical V8, is an extraordinary event against the backdrop of rampant electrification in the British auto industry
