German tuning studio Brabus has unveiled the most powerful model in its history, based on the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E hybrid liftback -Performance. Brabus 930, as you might guess from the index, produces a maximum of 930 hp, it accelerates to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds. The price is from 384,436 euros.
Previously, the “extreme” index for Brabus models was 900, and in order to reach it and keep it, the engineers from Bottrop had to apply all their skill and experience. In 2020, Brabus began to transfer top models from the V12 engine to a more compact V8, then the Brabus Rocket 900 made its debut, made on the basis of the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S liftback: on it the original 4.0-liter M177 engine was bored out to 4.5 liters and received a large number of new components. The result is outstanding: 900 hp. and 1250 Nm. Now it's time to take a new bar, and as it turned out, it was not very difficult.

The Brabus 930 was based on the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E-Performance plug-in hybrid liftback that debuted in 2021, its power plant based on the same M177 produces a maximum of 843 hp in stock. and 1470 Nm, and the Brabus result is 930 hp. and 1550 Nm. The new package is called PowerKit PowerXtra B40E-930.
The specialists of the tuning studio did not touch the electrical part of the power plant of the hybrid, but only slightly fed the well-known M177 — this was enough for a new record. The stock hybrid has a maximum output of the M177 without hybrid tuning of 639 hp, and Brabus increased it to 726 hp with the help of more efficient turbochargers and a rewritten control program. The electric motor mounted on the rear axle produces 204 hp, for a total of “desired” 930 hp. Thanks to the pumping of the internal combustion engine, the acceleration time to 100 km/h of the hybrid was reduced from 2.9 to 2.8 s, the maximum speed did not change — 316 km/h, because it is limited by the capabilities of the Continental SportContact 7 tires.

The carbon-fiber aerodynamic kit in this case is much more modest than that of the monstrous Brabus Rocket 900, but the hybrid costs about 50 thousand euros less. Standard equipment includes a new titanium and carbon fiber exhaust system, lowered suspension, powerful Brabus brakes and a completely redesigned interior with carbon fiber, aluminium, leather and Alcantara trim.

A regular traction battery with a capacity of 6.1 kWh allows the liftback to drive about 10 km on electric traction, that is, you can leave the garage in complete silence and quietly drive past residential areas, and on the highway open the bypass valves in exhaust system and let the forced M177 roar properly — the Brabus Rocket 900 is not capable of such «duplicity», even though it is positioned as a more elite and expensive model.
