Avito Auto experts analyzed the offer of used cars on the platform and found out what share falls on cars with a diesel engine. According to the platform, in the first half of 2023, the share of diesel vehicles in the supply of used cars was 11%. In the same period last year, the figure was 8.6%. The number of advertisements for the sale of cars in this segment increased by 49.8% year-on-year. At the same time, the demand for diesel cars with mileage in January-June 2023 increased by 33.8% compared to the same period last year. The average price of diesel cars with mileage was 1,900,000 rubles.
In which regions of Russia are the most popular cars with diesel engines
Top regions with the highest share of cars with mileage with a diesel engine is headed by the Kaliningrad region. In this region, the share of diesel cars in the supply structure at Avito Auto in the first half of 2023 amounted to 29.2%.
A higher share of diesel vehicles than the national average was also recorded in Moscow and Moscow Region (17.8%), St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region (17%), Khabarovsk Territory (16%) and Crimea (15.5%). ).
From Toyota Land Cruiser to Hyundai Santa Fe: the most popular diesel car models
According to Avito Auto, Toyota Land Cruiser topped the ranking of the most popular models in the used diesel car segment. The model accounted for 2.9% of the total demand for used diesel cars, the average price was 3,550,000 rubles.

BMW 5 Series is in second place with a demand share of 2.8% and an average price of 2 749,000 rubles.
The third line is occupied by the BMW X5 with a share of demand of 2.7%. In the first half of this year, a car of this model could be purchased on average for 3,953,000 rubles.
The fourth position is taken by Volkswagen Touareg with an average price of 1,990,000 rubles. The model accounted for 2.4% of the total demand for used cars with a diesel engine.
Fifth place is occupied by the Hyundai Santa Fe with a demand share of 2.3% and an average price of 2,346,000 rubles.
